GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATIONS
The geographical indications in Turkey are protected according to the provisions of Decree Law number 555 on Protection of Geographical Indications.

“Geographical Indication” is a name or a mark that shows the geographical origin of goods or is an element, matter, motif, material, or else procedurally an area, region and country which creates a demand and trust in the goods. The purpose of registering Geographical Indications is to protect products that have achieved a certain fame due to their general qualities such as production and their source.
