PLANT BREEDERS’ RIGHTS FOR NEW PLANT VARIETIES
Plant breeders’ rights in Turkey are arranged by the Decree Law number 5042 named as 'Protection of Plant Breeders’ Rights for the New Plant Varieties’ according to the provisions of law to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs through its affiliates is protected. Labor intensive and time spent with this act, the emerging new plant varieties that rehabilitated, find and improve plant breeders’ rights protection, are provided

Application of the following types are required to carry general terms;

Novelty
Dintinctness
Uniformity
Stability
Naming

Protection of duration is 25 years after the registration of the breeders’ right. This period is 30 years for trees, vines, and potato.
